Great Salt Lake Shoot.

This evening my good friend and fellow photographer, Tim Pluta, and I headed out to the shores of the Great Salt Lake.  The sunset was unbelievable!  Enjoy!

Wind River Range

Just got back a few hours ago from a quick 3 day trip to the Wind River Range in Wyoming.  It was my first time spending any time there, and I will definitely be back!  Here is one of the images from the trip.  There are more to come!

Work...

Here is an image I snapped while at work today.  This client has a house up in Park City, UT, and we had the contract for the solar installation.  It is approximately a 6.4kW solar array.  We also did some energy engineering on the design of the home to maximize the efficiency of the building prior to installing the solar.

An image of downtown Salt Lake City.

I was on my way home from climbing in Ferguson Canyon this afternoon when i saw this vista.  I couldn't resist stopping for a few images.  This is one that I captured.  I was using my D300 with a 55-200 VR.  Now, I have always heard to not use the VR feature when using a tripod.  I never fully understood why, but I do now.  I was shooting at F/13, 200 mm, and a shutter speed of 25 seconds.  Every time I checked my images, they would be a little blurry.  I couldn't figure out what the problem was.  I took my neck strap off, thinking there was a slight breeze I wasn't noticing.  No change though.  Finally, I heard the hum of the VR and realized my problem.  I switched it off and tried another.  Perfect!
